Welcome to the Irish Wood Project – the home of tonewoods grown in the island of Ireland, sourced and selected from native and locally grown exotic species.

All our timber is grown in Ireland, and carefully cut and seasoned, then selected and prepared for luthiers by luthiers.

All of our wood is fully traceable to source.

Some of the species we stock may not be familiar to all luthiers – we have been testing, experimenting and rediscovering woods beyond the modern limited pallet of “traditional” rosewood and spruce, with beautiful results both in look and sound quality so we have notes on our experience of using these woods, and are happy to answer any questions.
